Cottage Upholstery was established by Gregory Cupitt-Jones in 1994 from a small rural workshop in Nettlebed, Oxfordshire, after Gregory had spent five years working in the trade. More recently, Gregory has taken on staff to allow the company to deal with all aspects relating to client needs.

At Cottage Upholstery, we work with the best materials that we can buy with regard to traditional upholstery, and every care is taken to upholster a piece in the way the maker would have wished it to look at the time it was crafted. This involves significant research on the furniture, plus much careful planning even before we begin the actual work.

At Cottage Upholstery we specialise in 18th and 19th century upholstered furniture, and Empire style furniture from Europe, although we are happy to work with any pieces, and have worked for the National Trust and many famous interior designers.

We also make tailor-made loosecovers, and keep a large range of fabrics in stock - such as Romo, Wemyss, Titley and Marr - all at good prices, and including washable fabrics for loosecovers.

We are always very happy to advise clients on the best course of action if a piece has the original fabric in place, so that the furniture can be conserved.
