The Nettlebed and District Branch of the Royal British Legion announce their plans to join the Nation and mark the 100 anniversary, of the end WW1 on 11th November 2018.The day’s events include –

The Branch Standard will parade from the Bus Shelter to the Church at 10.30. All are welcome to walk with us. Once we reach the Church Lytch Gate, our village War Memorial, we will remember those who gave their lives in WW1. A bugler will sound the Last Post, and we will observe a 2 minutes silence. Wreaths will then be laid in their memory. Following this short ceremony everyone is invited to go inside the church for the remainder of the traditional Remembrance Day service and remember the fallen from WW2.

 At 15.30 The Branch, in association with the Village Club, will host a live concert performed by the Pangbourne Silver Band of music song and readings from the WW1 era. All are welcome, but seating will be limited.

In the evening at 18.50 the Village are invited to join the Queen and the Nation by lighting a beacon (or bonfire) on the Village Green, one of over 1,000 across the country.
