A4155 Henley Road (Flowing Spring) Embankment Remediation

I am writing to inform you that the emergency carriageway repair works currently being undertaken on the A4155 Henley Road (between Playhatch roundabout and Spring Lane) are progressing well despite difficult ground conditions encountered on site.

With this project being a major piece of work, Oxfordshire County Council has taken the opportunity to look more closely at future-proofing in order to mitigate against further disruption to this part of the network. Therefore, taking advantage of the traffic management in place some extra work is being carried out to build resilience into the road and to reduce future maintenance costs. This includes a revised safety barrier scheme, a length of additional carriageway resurfacing, a litter pick and refreshing the road markings at the Flowing Springs pub junction.

Expected Completion Date and Traffic Management

A full road closure of the A4155 has been in place since 29 August whilst the works are being undertaken, with access maintained to properties located within the extents of the closure. The public footpath between the A4155 and Dunsden Green has also been closed during this time. This traffic management will remain in place until the works are completed.

The re-opening of the A4155 is envisaged in the early hours of Saturday 11 November.
