Dear Residents,

You may, or may not, be aware that notification has been received from POST OFFICE LIMITED of the closure of the Post Office facility by the present tenant MRH (GB) Ltd (Malthouse Petroleum) at the end of the February 2018.  The reason given by MRH(Ltd) is that, quote,” we have been unable to place the appropriate levels of insurance for the cash handling risk at the site”.

As you are aware this Post Office provides an invaluable service for Nettlebed and the local villages. We’d like to suggest that as many residents as possible individually write to:

Mr John Howell MP, House of Commons, London SW1A 0AA

john.howell.mp@parliament.uk

requesting assistance in keeping this valuable service going and maintaining the Post Office in Nettlebed.

Some residents have already written in support asking if it is possible for Government to assist financially with helping MRH in placing appropriate insurance for cash handling on this rural site in what is a low crime area.

Thanks
