Let’s all clear snow

There is a risk of snow in the coming days. Let’s all clear the snow as soon as it falls and before it gets compacted by people and vehicles. I hope the meeting was thought worthwhile and I would like to thank everyone for their contributions to the debate. The main points were: 1. Post Office Ltd have said that a mobile service will commence on 26/03/18 and will visit Nettlebed on Mondays and Thursdays, 9:00am – 11:00am. 2. John Howell MP stressed that, in his view, the mobile service need not necessarily be the permanent solution. If suitable premises and a willing Postmaster could be found, it may be possible for a local community to persuade the Post Office to support an alternative to the mobile service. He gave a number of examples where this had been achieved locally. 3. Nettlebed Parish Council was asked to form a working party to develop an alternative proposal. Owing to the impact on the wider community, Councillors from neighbouring villages offered their involvement. I will endeavour to...
