School Governor needed … can you help?

The Governing Body of Nettlebed Community School is seeking new members from within the community to assist us in driving our amazing school forward. We want someone who cares about our amazing village and the people within it. School governors act as the executive board for a school, working alongside the Head Teacher to develop the school vision and strategy for continuous improvement. You will gain valuable experience, as well as the opportunity to shape the school experience. The Governing Body also supports the school in a range of activities including school trips, performances and within the classroom. All you need to do is volunteer your time; full training will be offered to support you in your new role.  Unfortunately, parents who have children at the school are unable to apply as all parent governor positions are already taken. If this sounds of interest we would be delighted to hear from you, please contact me via email on chairofgovernors@nettlebed.oxon.sch.ukRegards Matt TebbuttChair of Governors...

VE Day celebrations … we can still do this even with all the current challenges!

Next Friday is a special bank holiday as the 75th anniversary of VE Day.  We may not be able to have a village celebration together but it would be lovely if you could decorate your windows, doors and front garden’s in red, white and blue. Or if you have any put some Union Jack bunting up.  Please pass on to friends and neighbours :-) Here is a short running order for the events nationally on the day ... Friday 8th May is the 75th Anniversary of VE Day. The end of WW2 in Europe. Many celebrations/ commemorations had been planned across the Country. Understandably, due to the current Lockdown these have all been cancelled.
