Dear Sir or Madam,
For a while I have been dealing with Karl Philipp Moritz, a German writer who travelled through England in 1782 (http://hp-plass.jimdo.com). From June 22nd to June 23rd he stayed in Nettlebed. In all probability the inn where he lodged was The Red Lion. Moritz states that the innkeeper was called Illing. Could you acknowledge that a man named Illing ran The Red Lion in June 1782? If not, I would be grateful for information who could answer my question.
In advance, I express my thanks for your efforts.
Regards,
Hans-Peter Plaß hanspeter.plass@gmail.com

Smillies Farm, Nettlebed.
I’m looking for any information, photos or memories anyone might have of the R. Smillie and Sons farm at Manor Farm, Nettlebed adjacent to the church.
The farm was the dairy for the village until the 1970’s and delivered milk around the village and possibly to surrounding areas.
I'd love to know if anyone remembers the farmer, the farm as it ran in those days, or anything else at all.....!
many thanks
Patrick.

A community noticeboard has been provided by Nettlebed Parish Council for use by residents. If you have anything of interest/benefit to the local community to communicate, please feel free to display it on the board.
The noticeboard is located on the side wall of the Village Club (along the path between the club and the surgery). It is open to the elements, so best to either laminate, or use a plastic wallet to protect any posters etc.
