Dear all Nettlebed villagers.

IMPORTANT information below regarding the celebrations in the village for The Queens Platinum Jubilee next week.

As you may know The Cheese Shed is hosting the Queens Platinum Jubilee lighting of the beacon on Thursday 2nd June. It will start at 5pm for a kids hour with Bertie Slippers and face painting

6pm – 9:15pm, the delicious cheese toasties, hot corgis and ice cream will be served. There will be a fully licensed bar.

There will be live music from Purdy and her band, or as some of you locals will know her as Rebecca Poole before the procession to the bonfire and the lighting of the beacon.

They are limited on seating so please bring a fold up chair if you have one.

If you can walk then please do. Parking is very limited. 

So they have an idea on numbers please can you email The Cheese Shed to let them know how many adults and children in your party will be attending.

THE COMMUNITY BIG LUNCH

Sunday 5th June 12:30pm at The Recreational ground.

We are encouraging everyone to bring their own tables and chairs as we have limited amount.

If you don’t have any chairs or tables at home, you can bring then please don’t forget to call Sue at Life or pop into the shop on The High street to reserve your table and chairs. 01491642062. Book asap to avoid disappointment. 

You are welcome to bring your own gazebo. 

On the day you will be able to park on the rec, but walking is encouraged. 

It is a picnic and all welcome to bring their own food and drink. But if you would like to enjoy tasty food cooked by a professional then there will be food trucks there selling delicious food. The White Hart bbq. Fresh pizzas, Crepes and The Cheese Shed will be selling their delicious homemade ice cream. 

The fully licensed cricket bar will be open for cold refreshments and there will be tea and coffee in the pavilion. 

Don’t forget to bring cash with you. The cricket bar will be card only payment.

Don’t forget The Best Dressed Table competition. Red, white and blue royal theme. Lucy Fleming and Simon Williams will be our judges on the day.
