Appeal for volunteer drivers for Good Neighbour scheme

Appeal for volunteer drivers for Nettlebed Good Neighbour Scheme. Are you a driver with a few hours to spare each week? The good neighbour scheme offers lifts to Nettlebed Surgery patients for visits to the GP and hospitals. We can offer lifts occasionally for shopping or other purposes when drivers are available. We desperately need more volunteers for this service which is invaluable for those who cannot drive. There is a payment to cover your expenses. If you can help, please call Jim McWhirter on 641609 or Pat Harwood on 641425. Good Neighbour Scheme activities: Lunches - 12 noon in the village club 1st Tuesday. Costs £5. Booking essential - call Sue on 0118 972 3661. Coffee mornings - 10 AM in the village club 3rd Tuesday. Free. All welcome. No booking needed. First Mobile Post Office Visit Delayed to 29th March

Email from the Post Office to Chair of Parish Council I regret to inform you that we’ve had a number of delays in commissioning the van and operational equipment. Up to yesterday, Thursday afternoon, we were still trying to maintain the original schedule, but due to shortages of specialised engineers in the field during this busy period for us, there will be a delay in opening the Mobile Post Office. I don’t expect any of the services that were due to be running on Monday 26thMarch to do so, even if we manage to complete the installation of our equipment on Monday morning, as the van is based a fair distance away from its area of operations. Services will therefore commence on Tuesday 27th March in the area, but Nettlebed will only be visited on Thursday 29th March, as scheduled. Kind regards, Carlos Carlos Pereira, Area Network Change Manager (LIW), South-East Team 07442 538 217, carlos.pereira@postoffice.co.uk www.runapostoffice.co.uk  ...

Handbell requested

To reply, please don’t email - call Virginia Myrtle 01491 642 878 My sincere thanks to everyone who so kindly responded to my previous email about borrowing a zimmer, whilst my husband, Giles, is in need of one, and which was happily resolved, but we now wonder if anyone could lend us a handbell, so that he could ring it for us so that we can hear him, whilst he is upstairs in bed? We are not always hearing him when he needs attention and we thought this might be a solution! Virginia Myrtle. ...... 01491 642 878...
