With residents help 20mph could be recognised as the speed limit through Nettlebed. Nettlebed Parish Councillors will be distributing ‘20’s Plenty’ wheelie bin stickers to homes along the High Street and Watlington Street in an effort to help reduce the speed of traffic coming through the village. If you are delivered a sticker and do not want it (or don’t have a wheelie bin), would you please contact the Parish Clerk and we can arrange for it to be collected. OXFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 – Section 14(1) Notice of Temporary Traffic Order Henley-on-Thames – Red Lane Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 01 March 2021 Coming into force: 08 March 2021 This Order is being introduced because of duct installation works which are anticipated to be completed 16 March 2021. The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in the length of Red Lane from the junction of Coates Lane to the junction of Patemore Lane (south of the B481) Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via the B41, Patmore Lane, B480, A4130, Watlington street, Priest Hill, Park Corner and vice versa. Below are some details shared on the Parish Council Website which hopes to inform everyone about the best use of the salt in the various salt/grit bins in the village. There is a short video and a snow guide below for reference too (NB : Before we start - it is important to remind everyone that using the salt bins for private paths and driveways is not what that salt and grit is therefore and is theft.) If you need to use the salt in the grit bins, here’s a guide on how best to use it. The amount of salt required to treat an area is much less than you think. As a guide 20g/m² (about a heaped tablespoon) should be sufficient to clear and protect a 1m2 area of footway or carriageway surface.
