Sincerest thanks to everyone who so kindly responded to my email earlier about the zimmer! Wonders never cease! and almost immediately afterwards the Social Services telephoned us with one available and I have just fetched it, so we are well and truly sorted now. Most grateful to everybody.
Sincerely,
Virginia Myrtle....

My husband has just come out of hospital and although we have one zimmer, with wheels, we urgently need another one, similar, to help him move around the house, both upstairs and downstairs. Can anyone possibly lend us one for a while, until he gets stronger? Most grateful for any help that can be given. (Not having any luck with the District Nurses or the Red Cross at the moment)....

A Parish councillor has sent us the following:
There is helpful snow clearing advice from Oxfordshire County Council at:
click here for OCC snow clearing advice
There are also OCC links to information about which roads are treated by OCC Highways department at Click here for OCC road gritting details
Nettlebed Parish Council has been kindly assisted locally to ensure public salt-grit bins have been replenished with up to a ton of material, following use in December's icy spell, so that neighbours can help one another to keep moving again on our roads, as necessary....
There is a risk of snow in the coming days. Let’s all clear the snow as soon as it falls and before it gets compacted by people and vehicles. I am suggesting that we all clear snow outside our own properties and the pavements outside the homes of those not able to do it themselves. Snow shovels make it a lot easier and are available from £5 in shops or online.
It is often said that there is a risk of being sued if you clear snow and then somebody falls. This is NOT true provided your are sensible (as for most things in life!). See advice on snow clearing Government snow clearing advice
