There is a risk of snow in the coming days. Let’s all clear the snow as soon as it falls and before it gets compacted by people and vehicles. I am suggesting that we all clear snow outside our own properties and the pavements outside the homes of those not able to do it themselves. Snow shovels make it a lot easier and are available from £5 in shops or online.
It is often said that there is a risk of being sued if you clear snow and then somebody falls. This is NOT true provided your are sensible (as for most things in life!). See advice on snow clearing Government snow clearing advice

Many thanks to everyone who attended Thursday evening’s meeting to discuss future provision of postal services in Nettlebed. I hope the meeting was thought worthwhile and I would like to thank everyone for their contributions to the debate. The main points were:
1. Post Office Ltd have said that a mobile service will commence on 26/03/18 and will visit Nettlebed on Mondays and Thursdays, 9:00am – 11:00am.
2. John Howell MP stressed that, in his view, the mobile service need not necessarily be the permanent solution. If suitable premises and a willing Postmaster could be found, it may be possible for a local community to persuade the Post Office to support an alternative to the mobile service. He gave a number of examples where this had been achieved locally.
3. Nettlebed Parish Council was asked to form a working party to develop an alternative proposal. Owing to the impact on the wider community, Councillors from neighbouring villages offered their involvement.

Pleased to report the roof and window repairs are now complete. We now strive to do further refurbishment to this grand old building so we still need even more money! We have spent the generous donations already given so if anyone feels they can do anything to raise money it would be much appreciated. As we always say, the halls are there for this purpose and, once again, very many thanks to all that have made these recent repairs possible....

Dear friends,
You are of course aware that the loss of our Post Office at Nettlebed is imminent, one example of an ongoing and seemingly inexorable withdrawal of postal services from our local communities.
So what options are available to stem the tide?
Nettlebed Parish Council will host a meeting for John Howell MP to debate this issue with local Parish Councillors. The meeting is also open to any interested members of the public. It is to take place on THURSDAY 15th FEBRUARY, 7:30pm, AT NETTLEBED VILLAGE CLUB.
It is a matter of deep concern to a great many of us, so I look forward to seeing you there and to hear your contributions.
Best regards,
Cllr Jonathan Sedwell, Chair, Nettlebed Parish Council...
