Nettlebed Playground has re-opened

Happy to say that as of today, Friday, July 24th, Nettlebed Playground is open! We thank all residents for their patience and understanding as we prepared this playground for a safe re-opening. In line with government guidelines regarding the re-opening of playgrounds, please note the following in relation to the re-opening of the play area: • Sanitise hands before entering and on leaving• Try not to touch your face, eyes, nose or mouth, or put your mouth on equipment.• Follow the current social distance and government guidelines when visiting and encourage children to do the same• Limit your time and only one adult to accompany a child/children• If possible, clean high frequency touch points before using the equipment• Do not eat or drink in the play area• Put your litter in the bins provided but ideally take your litter home with you• If possible, a face covering should be worn (this does not apply to children under 3 years)• If the playground...

Nettlebed is getting a Deep Clean!

South Oxfordshire District Council Deep Cleanse department will be spending a few days in each Parish/Town across South Oxfordshire to perform a deep cleanse. It will be Nettlebed's turn for a clean up for three days from 5-7 October, they will be litter picking, sweeping and removing weeds/moss on pavements. They will not spray weeds, cut grass or vegetation or remove weeds and moss that is on roads and will only clear land to which the public is permitted access and that is under the direct control of the district council. Parking charges to be re-introduced from Monday 8 June

SODC will re-introduce parking charges in our car parks.  This follows the government’s announcement that outdoor markets and car showrooms are to re-open on 1 June and non-essential retail on 15 June. This move will help to improve the availability of parking spaces as people start to visit local shops again and encourage them to consider using more sustainable travel methods when visiting our town centres. Car parks will operate as normal, so users must display a ticket, including the free charging periods.  Normal rates will apply.  We will also start issuing new permits and re-issuing permits to anyone who’s permit would’ve expired during the lockdown.   NHS staff and care workers who display a national COVID-19 parking pass can continue to park for free – to claim a pass, they need to email carparks.southandvale.uk@sabagroup.com, with proof of their employment ...
