This service is for people with a senior citizens bus pass and who do not have the use of a car. It picks you up from your door and drops you back to your door. The service is free - booking is essential. The bus stops at Waitrose and Tesco in Henley. One week is a Thursday Comet Bus, the following weeks it's a Tuesday Henley Handybus. Nettlebed Parish Council have four vacant allotment plots. £15 for a full plot p/a. £7.50 for a 1/2 plot Dig for Victory was a campaign launched by the Ministry of Agriculture in 1940 to help combat food shortages in Britain by promoting the planting of allotments in gardens and on public land. Whilst Dig for Victory was a response to a wartime problem of food shortages many of its outcomes reflect things we are concerned about today:- - having access to fresh, healthy food - being active - living sustainably - saving money If you don't have the time to take on a full plot, do consider taking half a plot...perhaps share one with a friend or neighbour. Voter ID The UK Government has introduced a requirement for voters to show photo ID when voting at a polling station at some elections. Parking Space for the village Post Office. On behalf of the village Post Van which comes to Nettlebed on a Monday and Thursday morning, can you please make sure you do not move the traffic cones placed in front of the village club (to the left). This place is reserved for the Post Office Van as it is the only place in the car park with a reliable WiFi signal (needed for card transactions). Malcolm from the club kindly puts out these cones every Monday and Thursday but recently it has been bought to our attention that people are moving these cones and parking there (thought to be dog walkers). Nettlebed Art Society members have taken the sad decision to cancel this year's Art and Craft Show, which was due to take place on 1st and 2nd August in Nettlebed Community School Hall. We will announce dates for next year later on when Covid-19 has abated. Meanwhile, whilst all are in isolation, there is a wonderful opportunity to be creative in preparation for 2021 so that we can put on the best show ever. We would like to thank all those who support us by advertising in our catalogue, and all of you who come and make purchases during the show.
