VACANCIES FOR THREE NETTLEBED PARISH COUNCILLORS
A chance to make a real difference in your village
Two vacancies have arisen on Nettlebed Parish Council, and we’re looking for people who care about our village to step forward and get involved.
This is your chance to help shape the future of our village
Ask yourself:
- Do you want to help make Nettlebed an even better place to live?
- Are you passionate about supporting your local community?
- Do you have time, ideas or skills that could benefit the village?
- Do you want to make a difference to the lives of those around you?
- Are you concerned about local issues, from planning to play areas, footpaths, allotments, or speeding traffic coming though the village?
- Do you want to give residents a voice in decisions that matter?
If any of this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.
Being a parish councillor isn’t a big time commitment — just 1–2 hours a week, and meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month (no meeting in August and December). You don’t need any special background — just a genuine interest in the village.
To qualify, you need to be:
- Over 18 years old
- A British citizen (or a qualifying Commonwealth or EU citizen)
And meet one or more of the following:
- Be registered as a local government elector for Nettlebed
- Have lived or worked in the parish (or within 3 miles of it) for the past year
- Occupy land or premises in the parish
The next Full Council meeting will be on 6th May at 7.30pm at the Village Club (small hall) – why not come along to see what we do and meet the councillors.
If you’re not sure whether you qualify or want to chat about what’s involved, please get in touch. It really can be rewarding — and it needn’t be dull!
Please contact Jo Pugh, Clerk for more information and application form.
