On Sunday 11 November 2018, Nettlebed and District Branch Royal British Legion will join the Nation and host a series of events to commemorate and mark the end of World War 1, one hundred years ago, and to remember those local men who gave their lives for their Country.
6.00 am Battles Over – Sleep in Peace, now the battle’s over. Before dawn has broken the air will be filled with the sound of a lone piper. Battle’s O’er. A traditional air played by pipers after a battle. Heralding the start of the day’s commemorations.
10.30 am The Village are invited to join in a parade of the Branch Standard starting from the Bus Shelter to St Bartholomew’s Church. The Remembrance Day Service will begin outside the Church at the Lytch Gate, the Village War memorial,...
