Bonfires and nuisance Smoke

South Oxfordshire District Council are urging people not to light bonfires at this time to protect the respiratory health of the vulnerable and to avoid unnecessary burden on the NHS. COVID-19 is a respiratory disease and smoke inhalation can impair people’s breathing.  In addition to this, with larger numbers of people now working from home and also looking after children, the smoke from such bonfires can cause unnecessary nuisance to your neighbours. Do you really need to have a bonfire to dispose of your waste? Nettlebed Playground has re-opened

Happy to say that as of today, Friday, July 24th, Nettlebed Playground is open! We thank all residents for their patience and understanding as we prepared this playground for a safe re-opening. In line with government guidelines regarding the re-opening of playgrounds, please note the following in relation to the re-opening of the play area: • Sanitise hands before entering and on leaving• Try not to touch your face, eyes, nose or mouth, or put your mouth on equipment.• Follow the current social distance and government guidelines when visiting and encourage children to do the same• Limit your time and only one adult to accompany a child/children• If possible, clean high frequency touch points before using the equipment• Do not eat or drink in the play area• Put your litter in the bins provided but ideally take your litter home with you• If possible, a face covering should be worn (this does not apply to children under 3 years)• If the playground...

The Governing Body of Nettlebed Community School is seeking new members from within the community to assist us in driving our amazing school forward. We want someone who cares about our amazing village and the people within it. School governors act as the executive board for a school, working alongside the Head Teacher to develop the school vision and strategy for continuous improvement. You will gain valuable experience, as well as the opportunity to shape the school experience. The Governing Body also supports the school in a range of activities including school trips, performances and within the classroom. Village Club & White Hart reopening…4th July

Now not just the Americans have something to celebrate on the 4th July ! :-) Great news, with restrictions being lifted both The village Club and The White Hart are planning to reopen on the 4th July. The Club is open from 6pm to 11pm with restriction details posted outside the club whilst The White Hart is open 8am till midnight as usual hours resume - again restiction will apply to meet government guidelines. We are sure everyone will be keen to catch up with folks but we encourage everyone to please observe the social distancing rules and follow the instructions of staff :-). ...
