Electric Vehicle Charging

The Parish Council have received the following information from Oxfordshire County Council regarding EV charging. One key solution for residents who lack off-street parking is the Gul-e cable gully solution - https://gul-e.co.uk/ - which is a very simple cable channel embedded into the pavement to allow a resident to safely get a cable from a wall-mounted home charger to their EV at kerbside without causing a trip hazard. The Parish Council has registered already registered interest. Parish Clerk ...

Waste Service in the extreme heat

Please put your bins out the night before they’re due to be emptied this week. Biffa will begin waste collections at 5am on Monday 18 July and Tuesday 19 July due to the expected heatwave. This should help their crews avoid being out at the hottest part of the day. Even with the early start, it’s possible Biffa’s waste collection crews may not be able to complete their rounds. If this happens and your bins are not emptied, please leave them out for two days after your scheduled collection day and the crews will aim to catch up later in the week. More information is on our missed bins page (South/ Vale). ...

BEECHCROFT ANNOUNCE OPENING OF NEW FOOTPATH AT JOYCE GROVE

BEECHCROFT ANNOUNCE OPENING OF NEW FOOTPATH AT JOYCE GROVE The new owner of the former Sue Ryder Home at Nettlebed has announced that a footpath which is parallel to the High Street will be open to the public from the end of this month.  A planning application granted to Sue Ryder for the re-development of the former hospice and surrounding buildings includes a requirement to provide a footpath running from the entrance gate close to the High Street on the eastern side of the village to the western side of Joyce Grove near the Nettlebed Creamery.  The planning conditions stipulate that the footpath needed to be opened prior to the first residents moving into the apartments. However, Beechcroft Developments has decided not to wait for the planning application to be implemented and are aiming to have the footpath open by the end of June once security fencing is in place.  This approach was communicated to a meeting of Nettlebed Parish Council on Tuesday...

Leaving a Parking Space for the village mobile Post Office

Parking Space for the village Post Office. On behalf of the village Post Van which comes to Nettlebed on a Monday and Thursday morning, can you please make sure you do not move the traffic cones placed in front of the village club (to the left). This place is reserved for the Post Office Van as it is the only place in the car park with a reliable WiFi signal (needed for card transactions). Malcolm from the club kindly puts out these cones every Monday and Thursday but recently it has been bought to our attention that people are moving these cones and parking there (thought to be dog walkers). Please, on behalf of this valuable resource please be considerate and kind. There are plenty of other parking spaces in the car park! Thank you for your time. ...
