Thanks to everyone who have sent comments to the site and asked about posting we are taking that all on board. The website is a valuable asset to the village and we want to build on that and attract even more users and readers - the more we talk the better eh? The fete is now opening at the earlier time of 1:30pm as we have a flypast organised. At 13:47 the Lancaster from the Battle of Britain memorial flight will do a fly past. Don’t be late or you will miss it. DONATIONS NEEDED We still need donations for the raffle, tombola, bric and brac & the cake stall. I will be at the pavilion Thursday 5:30 till 8pmFriday 1:30 till 6:30pm & Saturday from 9am. Pop your donations in then. I will also be selling Party On The Rec Tickets. Life Interior and Nettlebedschool are also selling tickets. Grab yourself a bargain and get them in advance. Party On The Rec is a fun evening for all. Tickets are only needed for the evening. On July the 6th, the Commons Conservators invite you to a drop-in work party on the Nettlebed Commons. Earlier in the year tree felling has taken place on the commons and the wood that was not of interest was left on the forest floor. The aim for the volunteering day is to clear up as much of the brushwood leftover from tree cutting earlier on the commons. Instead of having brushwood lying around, we will build habitat piles so that the wildlife on our commons can have some refuge. Place to meet: In the beech forest in Nettlebed Common Wood (See map), where the marked footpath crosses the track. Indicated on the map as blue square. We aim to work between 10:00 and 12:30 and you are welcome to join at any time that suits you. We aim to have the majority of the work done by 12:30.
