Parish Councillor Vacancy

Nettlebed Parish Council has a vacancy for a Parish Councillor. Do you want to make a positive difference in our village? Would you like to influence decisions that affect your community? You need to be willing to give up some of your time. How much depends on you and your commitment to work for your community without being paid. Parish Council meets once a month (except August & December) usually on the first Wednesday of the month - although meetings will be moving to the first Tuesday of the month from April 2021). Meetings normally last around 1-2 hours. You must be 18 or over, an elector and have been a resident or worked within 3 mils of the Parish for the last year. 25th December, Christmas Day:10:30 Holy Communion at St. Bartholomew's, NettlebedWe are really looking forward to being able to celebrate Christmas Day in our church this year, but in order to ensure social distancing we will need to allocate seating in advance.Please could you let me know by reply to this email if you would like to come, confirming how many people are in your party (and in your bubble so you can sit together). A new speeding taskforce has been set up for Oxfordshire

We thought we would share with you an important new initiative in the County. Residents will be given more of a say on how to stop drivers speeding in their neighbourhoods, thanks to a new organisation set up to tackle the problem in Oxfordshire. The speeding taskforce group is a joint initiative involving Oxfordshire County Council, Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, Thames Valley Police and the Thames Valley Police & Crime Commissioner. Announced to coincide with Road Safety Week, its aims include educating drivers about the dangers of breaking the speed limit and helping communities to tackle the issue. Councillor Liam Walker, Oxfordshire County Council’s Cabinet Member for Highways Delivery and Operations, who sits on the taskforce, said: “Speeding is rightly one of the top issues that residents in Oxfordshire are concerned about and this is an opportunity for us to all work closer to explore new ways to reduce it. Wyfold Riding for the Disabled on the nearby Wyfold Estate. They are a charity and as you can imagine they have been affected by COVID. They are trying to raise funds to keep providing their services which are a real boost for many who use them. If you can spare a tenner we are sure it would be greatly appreciated.
